I am a Labour activist living and working in Camden, north west London. I joined the Labour Party four years ago, whilst studying at the University of Nottingham, because I am a democratic socialist. Labour is the only political party in this country that can deliver progressive change for Britain.

Over the twelve years Labour has transformed Britain for the better. In particular, the transformation that has taken place in our schools and hospitals has been phenominal. If the Conservatives win the next General Election this progress will be put in jeopardy. That’s why I’m a committed Labour activist: regularly delivering Labour leaflets, canvassing voters and recruiting new members.

It is my firm belief that as progressives we must dissent; we must question prevailing orthodoxies and challenge dogma. I am a member of Compass because I believe that it does just that. It provides the Labour movement with genuinely progressive, left-wing solutions and makes a vital contribution to the debate about the future of the Labour Party. As part of my involvement with Compass, I sit on the Compass Youth Organising Committee.

I currently work part-time as the constituency organiser for Holborn & St Pancras CLP and part-time for Holborn & St Pancras’ Labour MP, Frank Dobson, both of which I enjoy immensely. Previously I have worked for two other Labour MPs – Graham Allen and Vernon Coaker – and as an IT technician for the Health Protection Agency. I am Secretary of my local Labour Party branch, Finchley Road & Kilburn, as well as Youth Officer for Hampstead & Kilburn CLP. I am also the Chair of London Young Labour, which represents around 3,500 young members in London.

As well as the Labour Party and Compass, I am also a member of the Co-operative Party, the Fabian Society and Unite (T&G Section).

Outside of politics I enjoy acting, reading, running and stumbling my way through Radiohead songs on the guitar.
