Housing Horrors

A quarter of all Londoners now rent from a private landlord, including an increasing number of families.  Shelter reports that in the last five years complaints against landlords have risen 47%, yet Mayor Boris Johnson has refused to support calls for stronger statutory regulation of landlords and better protection for tenants.

People renting privately face rising rents, the threat of eviction at just two months’ notice and ineffective protection against bad landlords.  I’m challenging the Mayor to support better regulation in the sector to reduce rent inflation and better protect tenants.  If you’ve experienced serious problems whilst renting you can help my campaign by telling me your housing horror story below:
